The Hurricanenita idea came to me while browsing thru the pics of the internet on guitars. I was looking for cool guitars to be inspired of when i accidentally stumbled on a picture that had a plain background… and a super cool looking blond bombshell. I started browsing pictures of her to see if something would hit me, and i found one. But the picture looked like she was standing in a storm so i Photoshop a background to see what it would look like with a firestorm….that was the moment i felt that i just had to paint her. The next day i went to the art-shop Martin´s color to get a Hugh canvas in the right proportions. Because i wasn’t going to leave out the guitar she was holding :). In Photoshop i put her guitar from other pictures in a more front pose to get a good angle. And in upper left corner i applied her logo and lower right corner my own with my signature.
YES!!! There was the feeling of I-JUST-HAVE-TO-PAINT-THIS. I didn’t have any plan first of what to do when it was done but just to make this challenge work.
When painting faces i really am a bit of a perfectionist…. i wont stop until i don´t dare to add more. and since Nita is the first portrait of a real person i have done i was more perfectionist than ever….. i could stare in to the canvas of were i sketched the face and every time i painted something i would stop when i wanted to feel the next step. Feeling the next step is important for me, i could be doing something else and suddenly stop and rush to the painting and add what i was drawn to.
Some times it would take days before i did something, my other job as a waitress was a handful so it didn’t bring any inspirations…. but on rare occasions i could fly threw the apartment to just add a little bit before crashing to bed.
